Emfit Ltd launches a brand-new under-saddle pickup for acoustic guitars under the trademark SÄVY. The innovation comes from Heikki Räisänen, who in 1996 introduced the world-famous B-Band pickups and later sold the company in 2009.
Now, years later, Räisänen reinvents the concept with groundbreaking improvements. The pickup is built from Emfit’s proprietary ferroelectret film – as original B-Bands were, a thin material with microscopic air bubbles – renowned for delivering natural dynamics and rich acoustic tone.
The new multilayer design uses four bonded film layers that, thanks to a new patent-pending innovation, are active not only along the saddle’s length but also across the strings’ direction. Even with a slightly tilted saddle, a common problem, string vibrations are captured with unmatched precision. Thanks to ultra-thin 23 µm electrode carrier, the structure remains ultra slim while doubling the amount of active material compared to the original B-Band design.
