His unmistakable style combines advanced percussive techniques, a sure rhythmic feel and influences from jazz, folk, rock and classical into a sound he himself describes as “heavy wood.” Over more than three decades, Don has released an extensive body of work with numerous solo albums as well as collaborations with guitarists such as Andy McKee and Calum Graham, and tours regularly through Europe, North America and Asia.

Don Ross has experimented with alternate tunings on his guitar since early childhood. His original goal – with his first altered tuning at the age of ten – was to make playing in the key of C even easier. Later he discovered “open” tunings, where the guitar is retuned so that the open strings form a recognizable chord (such as D major or G minor). This ultimately led him to open up the instrument’s sonic possibilities for the musical ideas in his head – and to invent his own tunings that make those ideas easier to realize. In this masterclass, Don presents several of his self-developed tunings and explains the harmonic reasoning behind them. The aim is to inspire guitarists to go beyond the limits of standard tuning and to make more of what the instrument is capable of.

Jack Gardiner (born 1993) is a Swiss-based guitarist and solo artist from Liverpool, U.K., praised by Guitar World as “one seriously gifted guitar player.” A former student of fusion legend Tom Quayle, Jack has toured internationally with Stu Hamm and China Crisis and played as a support act for artists such as Plini and Arch Echo. His solo work blends fusion, rock, and cinematic soundscapes, with releases like Escapades earning acclaim as a “fusion masterclass” (Guitar World). In 2024–25, Jack released Shibuya Meltdown (feat. Gianluca Pellerito & Riccardo Oliva), Sandglass (feat. Andy Timmons), and Eightfold Fence (feat. Mariko Muranaka). He also collaborated with Cory Wong & Henrik Linder on Matterhorn for Neural DSP, guested live with Dirty Loops in Zürich, and filmed music videos in Japan, the U.K., Norway, Sweden, and the USA for his upcoming releases. Jack has delivered masterclasses alongside the likes of Guthrie Govan, Andy Timmons, Nick Johnston, and Greg Howe.
About the masterclass
In this masterclass, the focus is on developing a modern approach to visualising the guitar fretboard while maintaining a strong sense of melody and musicality. With an emphasis on improvisation, Jack will guide you through his approach to fretboard visualisation — exploring triads, 7th arpeggios, scales, modes, and fundamental harmony, before moving into more advanced concepts and applications. The class will also cover phrasing, time feel, and melodic devices, with plenty of room to explore other areas such as technique, songwriting, tone-building, practice approaches, and navigating the modern music industry. Questions are highly encouraged throughout, so come ready to get involved — and bring your guitar!

He is well known for making and sharing videos online, has built a large bass community on Instagram, and is the Chief Creative Content Officer of ScottsBassLessons.com. Originally from Kalispell, Montana, Ian now makes his home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and has an intense, never-ending love of music, classic basses, and any piece of gear that inspires new ideas. He is a musical ambassador and source of encouragement for all, no matter whether you’re a musician or simply a listener.

About the artist
Andre Nieri is an electric and classical guitarist, composer, and educator. A graduate of the Carlos de Campos Conservatory in São Paulo with a degree in Jazz and Brazilian Music, he works fluidly across rock, fusion, jazz, Brazilian music, Latin, pop, and classical guitar. With 25+ years of teaching experience, a role at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, and over 16,000 students enrolled in his online courses worldwide, Andre is recognized as a leading voice in modern guitar — not least through his “Magic Picking” technique, a system for switching between pick and fingers mid-phrase. In 2014 he won “Guitar Idol” in London, the most prestigious guitar competition in the world, and he currently holds the guitar chair in the band of legendary drum virtuoso Virgil Donati (Planet X, Steve Vai). He is endorsed by Suhr Guitars USA — with whom he has developed two signature models — and Bogner Amps.
About the masterclass
This is a masterclass about improvisation, but not the kind that hands you more scales to memorize. The same scale, the same technique, can sound plain or unforgettable depending entirely on HOW you use it. In two hours, guitar in hand, you’ll build a practical system for improvising with intention and feel. It starts with the pentatonic — the scale hiding inside nearly every iconic solo ever played — and turns it into a complete expressive language. You’ll learn Andre’s “Two Spaces Technique,” a personal approach to using space that lets you start sounding like yourself immediately. From there, the scale is expanded across the neck through bilateral movement, specific notes are added to unlock the modes and their flavors, and the class finishes with a vocabulary builder: how to manipulate one line until it sounds like an endless stream of new ideas. Everything is demonstrated inside real music, from famous songs and Andre’s own repertoire. Come ready to play, leave with a new way of hearing.

About the artist
Rabea Massaad (born 1988) is a British-Lebanese guitarist, producer, and songwriter known for progressive rock, metal, and djent. Originally a drummer, he switched to guitar after a knee injury — and went on to become one of the most influential names in the modern online guitar scene. A self-taught musician, he built his reputation through a YouTube channel offering thoughtful, substance-driven content on gear, tone, and production that reaches a global audience of players. As a band musician he shaped projects such as Dorje and the instrumental prog trio Toska, and he remains the live guitarist in Leo Moracchioli’s Frog Leap. In 2021 he also performed at Reading & Leeds Festival alongside Stormzy, taking on one of the country’s biggest stages. Through his signature models and close collaborations with leading manufacturers, he has helped shape the tonal ideals of an entire generation.

An informal, friendly hang with Rabea Massaad to talk about all things guitar, songwriting, tone searching, and more. The session covers different approaches to creating music, from something simple to embellishing an idea to build a wider musical vision. Rabea looks at the type of tone that works for different ideas and the common pitfalls when it comes to staying creative. He also opens the floor to Q&A to help attendees with any queries or ideas they’re stuck on, and to shed light on any areas they may be struggling with. Along the way he examines projects he has created to show how different elements and instrumentation can massively affect a project. Most importantly, it’s an opportunity for attendees to gain any knowledge or information he might be able to share — with the hope of teaching something new to each person. He hopes to see you there.
