JR Instruments Jay Special „Wormhole“

Sustainability in its most beautiful form

When people talk about sustainability, they usually refer to the use of local woods. But it can be even more specific: the limited edition “Jay Special Wormhole” is made from woods that grew within a few kilometers of the workshop. The neck and fingerboard are made from plum wood, while the heavily chambered body is made from maple. This makes the “Jay Special Wormhole” surprisingly light. The top is made from worm-eaten, but no longer “inhabited,” floorboards from a 150-year-old farmhouse. The headstock overlay underscores the concept of sustainability: it is made from celluloid that was nailed behind the door handles at this farmhouse. The exhibition instrument is equipped with Tesla pickups and Gotoh hardware, but of course the Jay Special Wormhole can be configured according to personal preferences.
