Santiago Alvarez, Tommi Otsavaara, and Torsten Woelle founded Citadel Electronics, combining decades of experience in product design with their passion as musicians. The company specializes in guitar and bass pedals and accessories and aims to challenge industry standards with new ideas and bold designs.
Alvarez, formerly Technical Director and amplifier designer at Marshall, shaped the sound of modern guitar music with amps for artists such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Slash, and Joe Satriani. Otsavaara, formerly Chief Technology Officer at Darkglass Electronics, is responsible for numerous bass effects and amplifiers that have significantly influenced the Darkglass catalog.
Citadel Electronics’ mission is to offer high-quality circuit designs at fair prices and to break new ground in sound and technology with innovative features.
Seven pedals are being released to mark the brand launch: the BusDriver (analog VCA compressor), Dynazero (adaptive noise gate), Overtuber (high-voltage overdrive), ParticleDrive (high-gain overdrive), PlanetaryPhase (VCA phase shifter), PlutoniumOD (total bass annihilator), and Vector (hybrid octave fuzz).
