Larson Brothers: Relaunch of the iconic brand

Larson Brothers of Chicago

In 1900, brothers August and Carl Larson took over Robert Maurer’s renowned workshop and founded their company in Chicago. The Larsons became famous for their numerous innovations in acoustic guitar construction. Many of their innovations were patented.

The Larson brothers’ instruments enjoyed the highest reputation and were played by world-famous musicians, including Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, Lester Polsfuss (Les Paul), Eric Clapton, Yngwie Malmsteen, and many others.

Today, original instruments fetch prices of up to €80,000 and more on the vintage market.

Together with Klaus Eilken, founder of Thomas Guitars, we have spent the last two years preparing for the relaunch of this iconic brand and are presenting the instruments for the first time at the Guitar Summit.

The Larson portfolio consists of the Heritage and New Era series. The model range includes popular shapes such as O0, OM, and Grand OM. Further models are currently in preparation.
